Skeið Farm Lodge [“Skayth”]

A visit to Skeið [“Skayth”] at the end of Svarfaðardalur [“Svarvathardalur”, the valley of “Svarvathar”] offers guests pure tranquility.
Surrounded by tall peaks of the Troll Peninsula, a stay at Skeið Farm Lodge is the perfect place to feel away from it all. Whether you are seeking long quiet walks along Svarfaðardalur, a yoga retreat with special friends, or a ski tour up one of the many spectacular peaks you can see from your bedroom window, you can access these pleasures right out the door of Skeið Farm Lodge.

New to Skeið this year is our commitment to permaculture. It is of utmost importance to us that we operate our business in an ecologically-minded and environmentally sustainable manner. This lifestyle approach, we believe, brings out the richness and harmony of our special landscape, making the experiences at Skeið Farm Lodge even more fulfilling. We encourage our guests to immerse themselves in the outdoor activities offered by our stunning natural surroundings. We welcome families, hiking groups, yoga groups, ski touring groups, and friends of nature.

Skeið Farm Lodge has unique accommodations in a renovated farm barn. We have two separate accommodations in the same building, each with their own entrance. The first is a small apartment with 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and spacious kitchen. This accommodation is optimal for families or 2 couples or mini-travel groups of 4 people with a max of 6 people. Next door is the larger group accommodation with 14 beds in 3 rooms.
The first bedroom has one small bed with another built above (beds are 90cm x 200cm). The second bedroom has 9 single beds in a 3-tiered bunkbed style (beds are 100cm x 200cm). The third room is a triple with 1 double bed (180 cm x 200 cm) and a single bunkbed built above (90 cm x 200 cm), plus the option to add a mattress (180cm x 200cm), hidden under the double bed, ready to pull out. There is a roomy dining/kitchen area with a large table, a living room, 2 showers, 3 toilets and a small sauna. In the entry way you will find a washer & dryer and drying room.
Internet access is available in both units. Bed linens are available for rent or you can bring your own sleeping bag. The kitchen is ideal for you to cook your own meals. We also offer the option of preparing meals for you. This latter option is only available with advanced booking.

During the ski touring season (February to mid-May) you have the choice of half- or full- meal plans for groups booking the group accommodation or both units. We welcome workshops, courses, or multi-week stays for large groups at Skeið Farm Lodge, for which the facility can be rented as a whole unit.
Minimum stay: 2 nights for Fri-Sun, or 4 nights for mid-week.
Camping is available with advanced reservations only.
Campers will have access to sanitary facilities and water.

The closest grocery store for supplies is located in the small town of Dalvík, just 18km away.

Cancellation terms: Cancellation of a confirmed booking: 20 % of the total price. Cancellation 8 weeks or less before the arrival day: 50 % of the total price. A so called no-show or a cancellation on the arrival day: 100 % of the total price.
